From 1998 - 2003 I created hundreds of windows for the Housing Works Thrift Shops, the upscale thrift store fighting homelessness and AIDS. For me it was personal. I had lost two brothers to AIDS. Vincent had been a display artist himself and I learned my craft in his studio. Every day of work was an opportunity to honor my brother's life and genius and a chance to discover my own, all while fighting the disease that killed him. It was hard to go wrong when these three paintings walked in the door. The window at 23rd Street was as big as any in the city and I was always trying to maximize that impact.
